Up and Down and Up and Down‏

23 Mayo 2016

I don’t have much time this week to write but a little more about my area and my companion. My companion Hermana Chicaiza is from Ecuador and is 30 years old, is super sweet, and truly wants to follow the will of the Lord. I love being with her and am so happy that I have the opportunity to get to learn from her and work with her. My area is smaller than Potosi but is getting me winded with all of the hills ;D . There are some times where we go up and down and up and down the hill to visit the different people who are here. I am loving it! hehe

Things that I have learned (or relearned) this week:

  • The will of the Lord is the best thing for us.  It is a lot more important what is best for us than what we want personally.
  • The sacrifices that we make for the Lord really aren’t sacrifices.  We get so many blessings in return for giving something up to the Lord that we really aren’t sacrificing anything but making wise investments.
  • The Lord has a plan for us.  Now we just have to listen and confide in his choices for us.
  • Success isn’t measured from the outside but from the inside.

I love you all! Keep up the great work!

Insane Incline

16 Mayo 2016

Wow! Cochabamba is a lot hotter than I remember it being! I just have to say that I didn’t think that I would ever have an area with more incline than Potosi.  However, I am here to tell you that I was wrong. Cosmos is probably one of the areas with the biggest inclines and the steepest in Cochabamba! The Cosmos area is a lot smaller than Potosi, but wow is it ever steep! It is going to be quite an adventure here!

Once again I can say that the Lord knows who I am and what I need as a missionary. I absolutely love my new companion Hermana Chicaiza and our area in Cosmos. This week I was looking back on my mission and just thinking that it is amazing! I feel like I am truly becoming more like Heavenly Father intended me to be. I have tripped and fallen a few times but it is more important to Him where I am headed than where I have been. And these experiences have helped me so much to become better and learn and grow into my potential.  I can’t wait to see what else the Lord has in store for me for the rest of my mission. I KNOW without a doubt that the Lord knows us through and through and knows exactly what we need in our lives to improve and truly become who He gave us the potential to become. This life can be hard and we all have challenges to get through but He can get us through it! He knows that we have hard times but He knows that these hard times are for the best! Trust in him! He knows what He is doing!

I love you all! Keep up the good work and have a great week!

Me Voy Por Los Cosmos‏ (I Am Going to Cosmos [Ward/Area])

9 May 2016

WELLLLLL... I have cambios [transfers]! uhhhh.... It hurts my heart to think about leaving Potosi (which has really come to be such a special amazing place for me) and leave all of the people that I have come to know and love..... I will be heading out to Cochabamba again to the Cosmos Ward!

I am really sad to be leaving Potosi.... It truly has become a holy place for me and I will never forget the difference that it has made in my mission. I have to be honest after having 11 months in Cochabamba previously, I was actually disappointed to get my cambios and hear that I was going back... I feel like I was pouting a little. BUT I remembered something super important: This isn’t my mission but the Lord’s. It doesn’t matter if I am in Cochabamba or Sucre or Potosi, It doesn’t matter if I am companion mayor [senior companion] or capacitadora [trainer] or training. It doesn’t matter what I want here but it’s what the Lord wants. When I came to the mission I knew that I was putting my will in the hands of the Lord and now I feel like I know a lot better about how to turn my life and will to him. I know that the cambios are inspired by God and I am super excited to see all that he has in store for me in Cosmos!

I love you all and I have to go for now to say goodbye to everyone and get all my things ready to head out tomorrow!

Love you! See ya! Bye!

Samuel's Baptism

2 May 2016

I don’t have much time this week but I just want to share with you guys some of the things that I learned this week and in all of my mission:
  • In life there are ups and downs- and we just have to enjoy the ride.
  • The baptism of Samuel was SUPER special! hehe There was one point where he was waiting for a while and he turned to us and he said ´Can I just be baptized already?´
  • Righteousness and obedience are interconnected with happiness.
  • Honesty is the best policy.
  • We were all made different and unique for a reason.
  • Just laugh :D
Sorry I don’t have any time, but I´ll write more next week! love you all!
